The Dorothy Day Outreach Ministry provides opportunities to help the homeless. and others in our community in need.
Every Friday we deliver food in the form of donated baked goods, fruit, produce and water to Daily Bread Food Pantry, Dorothy Day Hospitality House, Jericho House, and the Elm Street and New Street Shelters which is then distributed to our homeless brothers and sisters and others in need.
On the second Tuesday of each month, volunteers prepare hot meals for delivery to Dorothy Day Hospitality House.
On the third Saturday of odd months, volunteers assist at the Dorothy Day Hospitality House, a separate charitable institution, in the preparation and distribution of food goods. The ministry also distributes "Blessing Bags" (supply bags that contain items to help basic needs) on these Saturdays to the patrons. The “Blessing Bags” are paid for by The Tracy Ann Fund which is established and primarily funded by the family in memory of their daughter to help those in need in our parish and community.
The ministry also conducts food and clothing drives various times during the year for the benefit of organizations serving those in need.
